For those who are interested, here is one way to look back in time. I wanted to create some sort of timeline and put all the spacesynth releases into it, so here are all the spacesynth releases from the last decade, year by year (according to Spacesynth.net discography). The timeline should be quite easy to follow because the list includes only the original, "for-the-first-time", releases (according to the original format only). If there are any releases missing, just let me know. Free talk about the not-so-far past, if you wish. I'll try to update the list as soon as there will be new releases.

Very nice idea! Wow, it seems that it's the last years which are most prolific when it comes to releases. Until today I thought that it was the first half of previous decade...

Actually it was only spread for promo purposes and to my knowledge was never released properly.

So, there are 80 releases in total in the period 1999-2010. Not bad Smile

What about putting this list into the discography section, and including earlier spacesynth releases?

Yes. At first I was wondering what to be included or does it matter? There are also five promo CDR "releases" from 1999 by Made Up Records (Best of Made Up Records vol. 1-5) that didn't make it to the list. http://www.spacesynth.net/Label/MadeUpRecords . And the megamixes are also releases, althought they are kind of promotional stuff too (included).

Yep, that surprised me. More than I thought.

Maybe, in due time.

The mid 90's (1994-1998) seems to be just about Daylight and Futuresound releases (1-2 albums a year), but I think the new era of spacesynth quite much started around 1999-2001 when the new artists joined Hypersound Productions' Synthesizer Dance releases, some of them releasing own albums, and especially when more and more musicians and labels got involved soon after (2002-2004). Anyway, every year has been, and will be, important after the "beginning" of the new era.

Although this list points out the official releases, I want also point out and give my appreciation to the free spacesynth music / musicians too. Many new spacesynth "fans" or listeners has found this music through the free music tracks available on the net. That's very important in spreading message of spacesynth to the world, too. Just remember some things are free - some are not - purposely.

Good job, Saul! This list provides a good historical systematization of the genre. I think it can be helpful to do search or have quick information throughout the spacesynth discography.
