Actually this is probably the worst news I've heard today, this guy lost the plot and ran out of ideas many years ago.....I don't understand why he can't retire at his ranch, sip bourbon and listen to birds sing, yes he was a creative genious "A long long time ago............" but he's well past his used by date; get ready for another stinker Mad

You're talking about Lucas? He will not be director of those new episodes.

Exactly. He won't be writing nor directing any of the episodes. He'll just be a consultant for the sequel. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that the movies won't stinck. But it's a little consolation knowing someone else will be directing this. I guess soon we'll find out more about it.

Any thoughts on who you guys would like to see writing/directing the movies?

Wouldn't that be something. Smile Other than Man of Steel, which is at post-production stage, I don't think he's tied up with any other projects, so he should be available if considered.

In other news, it appears the trilogy may be a completely original story as opposed to being based on any of the currently available Star Wars novels.

Interesting is also to read some about this on Wookiepedia!
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sequel_trilogy

Even tho I would have loved to see some of the novels/comics as a movie! (Thrawn trilogy esp.) I don't think it would be possible. Sad
But another thing that I do think would be possible is to make one/several movies from the KotOR era. Having played the two KotOR games, that would be some ozzom shizznit! Very Happy
