That test is really badly mixed, all drums/hihats go through one output and share same EQs and fx. But I'd say it's just EQing and right reverb settings. I'm using Ultrafunk fxReverb. In your test the bassline is too dominating.

by the way, I like your first version (mv_replay) more than second one. Smile The bass has more "air".
I suggest to have more reverb and spatialstereo fx for background lead.

Not bad... perhaps its not mandatory to have the same reverb & EQ and compressor settings like in original. Your version is also good.

I found a temporary way to convert these EM1-files. At the Yahoo discussion board there is a program called EMU2WAV that converts an EM1-file into a wav-file. As the EM1-file include more than one sample, they will be placed after eachother in the wav-file. Here is the link to the program:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/emax/files/Emu2Wav/

Well, this is just a temporary solution, mostly to show how the samples sounds like. It would be best if these Emax-files could be converted to some multisample-format to be useful.

Probably this tool can be useful: http://users.skynet.be/emxp/

Depends which notes the wave file contains, but probably Orion's sampler could load the sample as is and do automatic splitting and looping.

This same guy, Hermann Shrieb, who has Emax samples for download has also released a VST synth called WaveSim. It emulates PPG Wave 2.2.

Just giving it a try and whoah, it sounds amazing. Has much more character than Waldorf's PPG VSTi. GUI needs a lot of improvement though as it's now a 1:1 copy of the original and doesn't work that well in VST land. The current version is free:

The searching for the Emax core library continues. I found the entire Emax II library in EMXP-format here: http://www.silveriafamily.com/emax/emax2_downloads.html

These images can be converted to Akai S1000 format with the tool EMXP which you can download here: http://users.skynet.be/emxp

Unfortunally my softsampler can't run those converted banks.

Most of the samples of this library i have already converted into wave format.
Rob told us :"The vocal effects all came from the Emax Core library"
I can not find any of those typical LD Vocals FX Sad

A couple of days ago I heard a song at myspace that uses this vocal sample and you can hear that song at: http://www.myspace.com/sevenhannover/
The song is called 'Catch Me I'm Falling' and the "Ho" sample can be heard at position: 02'06 and 02'28. So it seems like the sample come from some sample library as more musicians are using it.
