yea man i think that spacesynth is more complex composition than synthwave from what ive seen.
synthwave is easier to produce think thats why its more pop than spacesynth when spacesynth is aka synthpop lol

I have to agree that after I've listened several syntwave tracks I usually think where are the main melodylines? This makes it more soundtrack-like. It is propably the only thing I don't like about it, although I like the feel and atmosphere, and the coolness. But this is a matter of another topic...

yea it all feels a bit movie orientated. think thats the thing in synthwave its mostly tv based stuff. its much simpler to compose , its progressive in a bit like techno all in one line , they even do sidechaining? lol sidechaining mustve been amazing in the 80s lol. much of synthwave doesnt do chord changes like in spacesynth , reason why many prefer making synthwave . its funny but true spacesynth is more complex.

i prefer spacesynth , its all the sounds the chords the way its structured. i like some synthwave but most of it its just random crap.

I come to this kind of thought, how come that we are discussing about that the spacesynth if it is dying or not... and if it will be in tact and or the need for changing the spacesynth formulas...?
BUT if we look to ROCK music, then what a hell, rock music has been with the same formula (acoustic drums, bass guitar, el. guitar, vocal) soundwise and A-B-A-B arrangement wise too, still NOW, even if there has been progressive rock in history.

We are talking that wow what a heck, tired and bored about copycats of the LD. THE SAME I can say actually about the rock music too, that blaah, I am sick of it - just drums, some guitars and vocals and plain simple arrangement.

So, how come that rock music got with the same formula and much more rigid rules, with >50 years life? But we are just discussing about spacesynth and changes when it has been just 30 years?

Furthermore, if we just look that Elvis Presley phenomena, how many copycats are around it.

However Laserdance is nothing to compare with that but I see that the spacesynth have got the style of its own if there are STILL coming on these newcomers which begin all over again. And just as it has been with rock music, with same old formula, it has been with spacesynth too.

yeah i couldnt have put that in any other way. same goes with rock , heavy metal and every other subgenre. its got a way with riffs and nowadays every single aspect of music / genres etc have been pretty much done and explored . if people are tired of it then dont listen to it or listen to something different for a change. music is music and seriously everything it's probabaly been done already.

laserdance founded and created this spacesynth style i suppose so obviously there will be nothing else to compare it with except for everybody else 'the clones' lol but i guess thats nobody elses fault because this music follows a certain formula like any other genre does.

My two cents about forum activity are that in 1997 this kind of forum was the COOLEST THING EVER Cool Now 18 years later there are other arenas, as pointed out by others here....I'm writing this here though That Doesn't Sound Right
