I think this sounds OK. I really love the original Koto tune. Smile

However, to be completely honest, I personally find few "dancestyle" remixes of essentially instrumental melody-driven spacesynth music to be listenable over time. This has to do with the nature of sound, and how that affects my mind. The heavy "dance beats" just adds confusion: Should I dance or absorb the melodies? But maybe I'm different than most people here, because I'm extremely sensitive. Wink

Production as such: Well, it sounds "professional" enough, I guess. Maybe I would prefer other drums and/or bass, because the current one is a bit too hard IMHO. It's difficult to describe instrumentation in words, so I'll just post a quick mp3-example below of what I'd prefer.

Also, since the mp3 I post is just experimentation (not a coherent song), observe what happens when I gradually drag the music from trance/eurodance into spacesynth and then italo, by introducing melodies and soundscapes that work in those genres -- but still keeping the "dance backbone". As I see it, this won't sound convicing: the dancebeat washes out the melodies, or at least makes them sound a bit "separate" rather than integrated into the music as a whole. (But maybe this is just due to my limited compositional skills; maybe others can make it sound more convincing. I think e.g. Galaxion is really good in this regard.)

If you are doing or trying to do it as eurodance then perhaps its ok.

well well. 1996 I discovered Rofo theme remix (it was some kind of eurodance style) and it had for me influence that I
had the urge to find out original version of that song.

With your song for example if the history would have been so that I discovered your song before Koto's original, it perhaps would have the same effect. So, it can somehow promote spacesynth... :)

Well, I guess that its biased opinion becouse I listen 95% of the time italo disco and its nearest sibling genres and finished listening eurodance style long time ago. (No offence please)

Prometheus, your song sounds really good to me Very Happy And the Koto version by SashaOld, it tries a bit too much to sound like Benny Benassi.

I'm open to eurodance... with respect to that genre I think it's pretty good. Nice strong dance beat, and I like the harmony you added around 3:04. The guy say "2006" all the time is kind of annoying, though. The song is short enough that I don't think it gets overly repetitive. Might've been nice to the second part of the melody appear once in the beginning, but I suppose that's part of the conversion into a different genre.

Prometheus - Holy crap... that is a NICE song.... Though to me the end just sounds like spacesynth or italo-type instruments with a hyped-up background, or even just eurodance with slightly different instruments, and I don't find that it really bothers me. Also, have you heard some of MindXpander's stuff? His sounds aren't as trancey as Galaxion, but he does use harder drums and a faster tempo than is typical of spacesynth.

I also like the dancey spacesynth by Prometheus. Just finish it (the sound is stifled, so at least some mastering is needed) and it's gonna rock.

Heh, you efficiently turned our attention away from SashaOld's track Smile

Remix from SashaOld:
Good work, but unfortunately this foot is already too strong for me, and personally i don't like the background a'la Benassi Bros.

Therefore personally more I prefer trance rhythms, and for this reason more I liked the track from Prometheus. It's really good!
